Most guitar players play guitar with a pick than fingers, now I'll give a little knowledge about the guitar picking technique.

Guitar Picking Techniques

There is no standard to standard in holding this guitar pick. However, most guitar players holding a guitar pick with the thumb and forefinger as shown below:
Then to strum a guitar with a pick, must be done in 2 directions, up and down like in the picture above. Why? Because if you do pick one direction, for example downward course, be much slower than the bi-directional strum.

In the picture above, the number 0 indicates the fret 0 (loose strings) on the first string, third fret on one string, fret 4 on string 1, etc.. Train faster! But it must be accurate and clean. Do not use any guitar effect to practice. Create your own variations in practice in training your fingers.

Picking ... ...
I think picking is the way how you pluck a guitar string. For a guitarist picking should not be granted, because there are so many types of picking what we can learn. I myself was not at all versed in music (especially guitar to play a musical instrument) but I'll try to explain some types of picking that I think there are only two concepts of using finger picking (finger picking) and picking using the tool (Proper picking). From these two basic concepts of picking it, it can be created, picking other variations you can use as needed.

Finger Picking
Finger Picking is a way of using the finger pluck a guitar string, in writing musical notations finger right and left to differentiate using the symbols of letters and numbers. Proper Picking

Arternate Picking = It is a combination of the upstroke and downstroke picking picking picking the strings toward the top and bottom. Picking this type most often used because it can pluck the strings more quickly compared to if you only use it stokes up-or down-storoke course

Economic tehnih picking Picking = Variations for solo play the game fast, economic arternate almost the same as picking, which can sound economic distinguish two tones at two different strings into a single passage

Circle Picking = Sometimes there are also stating that the circle equal to economic picking picking, but I distinguish them because the circle picking incase strings by rotating like a circle so that DAPT produce a smoother sound (you can really disagree with me: D)

Sweep Picking = bias also called picking arpeggios. This variation is used to strum a few guitar strings at once, by the way just incase the strings downward or upward course.

Tremolo Picking = Same as arternate picking, tremolo variation can usually be differentiated when there is a tone in the quotes are often (repeatedly) and fast.

Harmonic Picking = Variation picking to produce harmonic tones. Have a look and listen to the guitar sound which is derived from the videos.
